Our first impressions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt after playing the first part for about an hour. We got to try the PC and Xbox One versions highly anticipated action RPG.
History : Who is waiting for some time a game can make the most of your configuration PC or, more simply, the new console, almost certainly waiting with great anxiety Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. This is because it is a title designed to base to make the most in terms of graphics and to handle huge game worlds, filled with many activities holistic.
Unlike many other titles in the recent period, also, The Witcher 3 is not developed with the hardware of the console in mind and is not limited to the base with respect to the vastness of the game world and the freedom given to the player.
CD Projekt reasons as an independent software house, and this is particularly evident with the policy of GOG.com, its digital store completely DRM-free. It is also clear why: the main target is the PC and only later is thought to weaken the game so it fluid and still enjoyable even on consoles. After these first tests, and after trying Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is on PC and Xbox One, we can confirm this.
Huge visual detail of PC, with game worlds that are lost literally in the eye, and with great precision in polygonal models and their armor, as well as vegetation. Elements that have less complexity on consoles, and 30fps instead of 60fps, but still large enough fluidity and visual detail on Xbox One. Indeed, The Witcher 3 seems one of the games with a more stable frame rate of Xbox One among those who have tried so far on the Microsoft console.
But of course when it comes to CD Projekt we are not talking only of graphics. Within the role playing the last period it has been marked by a title, in particular and I am referring of course to Dragon Age Inquisition.
As for the depth of the game world and the density of activities within it, probably the BioWare title is the first title to be able to transpose the complexity of classic RPGs within the setting that provides three-dimensional graphics. This is why, in my way of seeing things. The Witcher 3 has to deal, first of all with Inquisition.
This means that, compared to The Witcher 2, must expand the structure of its maps so as to match the size of the maps of Inquisition and, above all, must be much more intense in terms of action and dense in terms of activities to be performed to internal maps.
I believe that the recent postponement of the release date of the Wild Hunt explain precisely these reasons: CD Projekt, obviously, does not want to look bad against Inquisition and, indeed, rightly wants to overcome it.
Those who played the previous chapter, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, knows that the story is interrupted abruptly. It is expected, in short, that this Wild Hunt give the answers to certain events that they had found no conclusion in the previous game.
At the same time, the two games draw only vague inspiration from the novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, the Polish author who invented the figure of the witcher, the famous Geralt of Rivia that is at the center of events.
According to own statements of CD Projekt, Wild Hunt can be played even without knowing anything of the events narrated in the two previous chapters. Those who have tried to circumvent Geralt in the previous chapter are now out of action, while the Wild Hunt tell a new story of personal witcher, falling even deeper especially from a psychological standpoint.
The world is about to go through a profound period of change, and the old power games no longer exist. There will be new forces contending for power and new characters will replace the old. Are dark times because an army of mysterious and otherworldly creatures known as Wild Hunt invades the Northern Kingdoms, leaving behind only blood and burning ruins. The Witcher is the only key to stop the cataclysm.
