New Need for Speed and Mirror’s Edge 2 in the road map of EA
Mirror’s Edge 2 is now scheduled for the first part of 2016, when it will arrive with the new chapter of Plants vs Zombies.
Electronic Arts has revealed financial results for the first fiscal year of fiscal 2016, and anticipated what will be the major releases of both for 2015 and for 2016. At the end of this year will come a new chapter of Need for Speed, along with NBA Live 16 and Star Wars Battlefront.
By the beginning of 2016 are expected Mirror’s Edge 2 and a new Plants vs. Zombies. EA had already shown a prototype of the later of Mirror’s Edge E3, promising improvements to both the portion of parkour that the combat system, which is one of the weaknesses of the first chapter. This project, like Battlefront is entrusted to DICE, but apparently unable to complete the development of the two games in parallel.
Much less is known about the new Plants vs Zombies, but in the past, the CEO of EA, Andrew Wilson, described him as ” bigger and bolder ” than Garden Warfare released in February 2014. No detail even for Need for Speed, which obviously it will be announced in the vicinity of the next E3.
Titanfall 2, it is expected in the next fiscal year, which runs from 1 March 2016 to 31 March 2017. It is a project as a longer term than the other of which EA spoke. By the summer and fall, then, as usual they come other sports titles like FIFA, Madden and NHL.
As for financial results, revenue grew by 5.5% compared to the same period last fiscal year, reaching about 1.19 billion dollars. Sales in a digital format now impacting on more than half of total sales, and the better than expected results for Q1 arising mainly from the sales of digital Battlefield Hardline.
EA expects to bill $ 4.25 billion in the entire fiscal year with profits of $ 2.75 per share.
