After a wait of almost a year since the release of Early Access, Assetto Corsa has reached full maturity and has been released in version Release Candidate 1.0. In eleven months, the boys Kunos have changed several elements to the simulator, improving it in almost all aspects thanks to the feedback collected from users.
As never before, it was the community to have a dominant role in the development of Assetto Corsa, which the developers have paid attention at every stage of development, listening to the advice and steps to improve some aspects and fix any bugs. The Release Candidate fixes some problems of balance between the cars, and introduces several contents.
I finally found the physical damage to the bodywork of the cars, and introduces the mechanical damage to the aerodynamic, engine, suspension and tires. The pit stops were added in online races, but are still absent in single player. Assetto Corsa also gains a new career mode, in which new events will be released only to the achievement of certain objectives.
The Release Candidate introduces a new audio engine, which significantly improves the sound effects with external cameras to the car, while it is a particularly substantial list of new cars: it is finally available LaFerrari (exclusive on PC), along with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde, Ferrari 458 GT2, Lotus 2 Eleven GT4 Lotus Evora GTE Carbon, Lotus Exige S, Lotus Exige V6 CUP, Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, Shelby Cobra 427SC (from a mod community).
Among the new circuits mention Spa Franchor champs and Trento Bondone, together with a new variant of Silverstone (National).
Assetto Corsa was born with a project-class well below that which then became over time. Regard, as mentioned above, the community, but also Kunos Simulations who managed to understand the value of the simulator and he believed in, even the strong success of netKar Pro, one of the most appreciated simulations of his generation. But with Assetto Corsa things could become very different.
The new simulator car may be able to establish itself among the solutions much more emblazoned category. Just a few hours to realize that behind the development of Assetto Corsa are fetishists of auto enthusiasts who live with and for the engine (the base of Kunos is at Vallelunga, just in racetrack).
